From single-family homes, the missing middle, plans of subdivision, and residential institutional buildings, RGC's common approach for each project must include the perspective of the end user. RGC is responsible for creating “Places to Live” that provide a quality of life that merges function with the human scale. We understand that the best residential architecture not only provides shelter but enhances the lives of people who use the space to make a positive contribution to the environment it supports.

Our distinct schematic first approach leads to designs that are unique and inspirational. Each effort by our design team aligns modern clarity to our design clearly defining the intended function of each space, while remaining sensitive to the aesthetic qualities of each dwelling. Heritage homes, Transitional homes, and Modern designs are several of the successful projects completed since our corporate inception in 1984.

MIXED-USE BUILDING DESIGN

Across the GTHA, specifically within the limits of the City of Toronto, changes in land use have led to creative buildings that merge similar synergies for a mixed-use building envelope. Retail Food stores beneath boutique Hotels with private residence above is a sample of how different functions can cohesively align and succeed.

Main Street arterial road building compositions include retail main floor spaces, with, Affordable housing including artist studios. New construction or building expansion apply to both opportunities for creating a higher and better use for the property stakeholders.

Building design for mixed-use buildings is challenging and interesting, both, from a City Policy perspective and constructability. Heritage value must be evaluated, environmental impact issues, air, light and building shadow tests are just a few of the RGC design tools used.
